This Privacy Policy explains how OniMoney collects, uses, shares, and protects your personal information when you use our application, website, and related services (the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy.

Who Is Responsible for Your Data

Information We Collect

Information you provide directly

  • Account details such as name, email address, and password.
  • Financial data you enter, such as income, expenses, budgets, financial goals, and transaction descriptions.
  • Any content you submit through chat, forms, or support requests.

Information collected automatically

  • Log data, such as IP address, device type, browser type, and access timestamps.

Information from third parties

  • Data from linked bank accounts, payment processors, or authentication providers, when you choose to connect them.
  • Email transaction data from your Gmail account, if you choose to connect it, limited to financial transaction notifications only (see 'Email Access and Gmail Integration' section below).

We do not intentionally collect sensitive personal data beyond what is necessary to operate a budgeting service. Please do not enter sensitive information you do not want us to process.

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Provide, maintain, and improve the Service.
  • Create and manage your account.
  • Generate budgets, goal estimates, and AI-assisted suggestions based on the data you enter.
  • Respond to your requests and provide customer support.
  • Send service-related communications and, with your consent, marketing communications.
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, security issues, and technical problems.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

Email Access and Gmail Integration

If you choose to connect your Gmail account, OniMoney requests read-only access to your email messages for the sole purpose of identifying banking and financial transaction notifications, such as bank alerts, payment receipts, and card transaction confirmations.

Specifically, regarding your email data:

  • We only read emails identified as financial transaction messages. All other emails are ignored and never accessed, stored, or processed.
  • Email content is processed only to extract transaction details (amount, merchant name, date) for use in your budgeting dashboard.
  • We do not retain raw email content after transaction data has been extracted and classified.
  • We do not use your email content for advertising, to build user profiles beyond budgeting, or to train AI or machine learning models without your explicit consent.
  • You may revoke Gmail access at any time through your Google Account settings at myaccount.google.com/permissions. Revoking access does not delete your OniMoney account or previously extracted transaction data.

Legal Basis for Processing

We process your personal data based on one or more of the following:

  • Your consent (which you may withdraw at any time).
  • Performance of a contract (to provide the Service you requested).
  • Our legitimate interests (such as improving and securing the Service), where these do not override your rights.
  • Compliance with legal obligations.

How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information. We may share it only:

  • With service providers who process data on our behalf (e.g., hosting, analytics, AI processing, customer support), under confidentiality obligations.
  • With third-party integrations you choose to connect (e.g., bank connections, payment processors).
  • When required by law, legal process, or a valid request from authorities.
  • To protect the rights, safety, and property of OniMoney, our users, or others.
  • In connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, with notice to you.

Data obtained through Google APIs, including any email content accessed through Gmail integration, will not be sold to third parties under any circumstances.

Google API Compliance

OniMoney's use of information received from Google APIs, including the Gmail API, complies with the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use data obtained through Google APIs only to provide and improve the features described in this Privacy Policy, and for no other purpose. We do not sell, transfer, or disclose Google user data to third parties for purposes unrelated to providing the Service.

Third-Party Services

The Service may rely on or link to third parties, including hosting providers, AI providers, analytics tools, and payment processors. These parties have their own privacy practices, and we encourage you to review their policies. We are not responsible for their handling of your data.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information only as long as necessary to provide the Service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. When data is no longer needed, we will delete or anonymize it. You may request deletion of your account and associated data as described in the Your Rights section.

Cookies and Tracking Technologies

However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We will never send your account password or login credentials to you by email. Any account recovery or password reset process uses a secure, time-limited link only.

International Data Transfers

Your information may be processed or stored in countries other than your own. Where we transfer data internationally, we take steps to ensure it receives an adequate level of protection consistent with applicable law.

Children's Privacy

The Service is not intended for individuals under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us at privacy@onimoney.com and we will take steps to delete it.
